The Water Regulations course provides the essential knowledge and assessment required to gain WRAS / Water Regulations approval. It is designed for plumbers and installers who work with potable water systems and need to demonstrate compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

Successful completion enables learners to apply to approved plumber schemes and self-certify plumbing work, helping protect the public water supply from contamination, misuse, and poor installation practices.

    • A plumbing qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2) or relevant work experience is recommended
    • Learners must be able to complete written and practical assessments

    • Theory Test: 1 multiple-choice exam (approx. 1 hour).
      • Pass rate: 100%
      • Candidates may have up to 3 attempts.
      • If achieving 80–99% on the second attempt, oral questioning may confirm competence.
    • Practical Assessment: Tasks on a training rig to demonstrate correct application of water regulations and safety practices.
    • Retakes: Candidates who fail must retake the full assessment.

    Certificate:
    Successful candidates receive a Cert-ain Water Regulations Certificate of Competence and a photo ID card, recognised by the Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme (WIAPS).
